Look! A Movie Review!

Hey! I’m writing about a movie! Look at me! I actually saw a movie! I’m so excited XD

It was on a school night too! I feel free!

Anyways, roomie and I went grocery shopping, which was good because I had been fueled by nothing but nature valley bars and a banana all day. After checking out we spotted a red-box thingy sitting near the exit.

It was basically calling to us. I don’t know about my roomie, but I don’t think I’ve watched a full movie since winter break.

We stopped and stared at it for a moment. We couldn’t just say no.

Browsing through the list we had managed to narrow it down to two options, which is a miracle in of itself giving our track record of joint decision making (hint hint: it’s not a good one). Anyway it was:

Wreck It Ralph vs. Rise of the Guardians

I had seen neither. Roomie had seen Wreck it Ralph, but she said it was really good and wouldn’t mind watching it again. I mentally glared at her for being lazy(even if she’s “dying of the plague” as she puts it)….(she’s going to see this so I wanted to say I know you are dying, I can hear you coughing through the walls, get better, don’t contaminate me, etc… 🙂 )

So in the end it was up to me. I quick game of eanie-meanie had us pressing the button for Wreck it Ralph. I felt a little guilty because it was still a movie she had already seen. As fate would have it though, Wreck it Ralph wasn’t actually available.

Rise of the Guardians it was!

We got back to our apartment, put away foods and took a couple hours to do homework/do some yoga because I had ended up missing out on hapkido due to amount of things I needed to do/get sorted/why!?!?

I think it was the most productive 2 or 3 hours of my life. Still need to get started on my signals homework, but eh.

Cookies were also made. They were chocolate chip, but instead of vanilla I put in kahlua, in respect of my dying roommate’s “final” request. They were delicious as always XD. I’d share the recipe but I don’t really have exact measurements. I’ve been making them for about as long as I can remember, so I’m at the point where I can do whatever I want to the recipe and they will still taste fantastic. I’ll post another baking story soon. I’m writing a book of recipes I made up. The unfortunate thing is that I only wrote down the ingredients and not so much the instructions….hmmmmm

Anyway, after the cookies were pulled out we each put two on a plate, poured a glass of milk (soy for me! Lactose intolerance for the win) and sat down for the film.

And here’s the part where I give a review, so possible spoiler warning. You have been warned. Heed the warning, heed the spoiler. Am I spelling heed right? I can’t spell it with an “a” can I? that would make it “head”…or “haed” which my computer is telling me is not a word. I’ll settle with heed.

Spoiler Warning. Heed it. Moving on.

Still no pie :(

This isn’t pie. this is a movie. you should go watch it.

Rise of the Guardians Review

I loved it! It was fantastic. My roommate kept freaking out about why Santa (aka “North”) was soo Russian. She also didn’t understand why sandman made magical manta rays. She was fine with dinosaurs, fish, and unicorns, but manta rays were apparently a no-go.

I called her a “ray”-cist. This was followed by two simultaneous face-palms by both of us.

The movie itself was funny, adventurous, and even sad at some parts (I think my roomie spilt tears when Sandman lost to Pitch Black. I, of course, stayed strong). It emphasized the importance of childhood imagination and provided the warm sense of nostalgia that people are age are searching for. But enough of the analysis. I did that enough in high school english and personally, I like watching movies for the entertainment and inevitable emotional roller-coasters.

I didn’t recall that roller-coasters was suppose to by hyphonated..thanks spell check!

I left space between the spoiler and non-spoiler review

keep going

pie!

you want pie now don’t you?

maybe I’ll make some this weekend.

Probably not, I realized I used the rest of the flour making cookies….

ah well

you’re almost to the end!

see?
